One week til the Dirty Dog race!! I am so excited, I plan on entering in the 2 dog bikejoring adult race for sure. Today I had no school so for the morning I just hung out with the dogs. I let them sleep in and relax because I usually get them up at 5:30 to run. Not today. Today we went and ran about 8 and went 3 miles. It was funny.... Dingo started off the run with one flopped over so I could see the pink of her ear. Then, about 3/4ths into the run she ended up flopping the other one over the same way. I just laughed the whole way.
After we got home I let them relax and fed them. I also vaccumed the house and cleaned up all the dog hair and picked out dog poop from outside. Not the most favorite job in the world but the dogs got to spend time with me. I also brushed them and worked on 4-h things that we learned over the summer. Except for agility that is. Then, for the afternoon I left them at ease and went and did my own things. It was a pleasent day with no school and the whole house to just the dogs and I. So excited for next weekend... and I hope to see people there to support me!!!

So fall has arrived and I have started fall training. Things are going pretty well I can say. We go out in the morning right before I head to school and go for a 1/2 hr bike ride. So far we are going about 1.5 miles and I plan on upping that to 3 miles pretty soon. Got to get ready for those 2 dryland races in WI.
As you can tell I have updated my website. I plan on adding more photos and keeping the blog updated as time goes on. I hope some exciting things happen soon but you never know in the sled dog world. There can always be the unexpected, like I had with my gangline or DIngo. My cousins dogs are doing well. She has told me that she has some of them running off leash for practicing and getting into condition. While I have not actually gone out to see her dogs yet they are getting lots of excersize and I believe her. I need to get her a mileage log so she can document her mileage and what she does with her dogs. I will also be trying to get her a mileage idea so she knows how far to be running with her dogs. I hope to get her racing this year also. We, Calling All Caninies plan to make it a AWESOME sled dog season. A thanks goes out to the Boys and GIrls Club for supporting me and then calling me crazy for this sport. I will keep this blog updated along with the website. Thanks for looking!!! |
