While I can't say that the kennel day was all that great of a day, it was and wasn't. The weather was extremely windy, with rain coming and going all day. We had 1 family come out, and that was Katie's school teacher. I, Carlleen put up 6 flyers. Two at school, two at the local Boys and Girls Club and one at the local bait shop. I made an event on Facebook, and put up a blog post here, on the website. I can say I personality was disappointed, but there will be future years to come. I had people wishing they could have came, but something always came up. Maybe next year!

This weekend, on the 26th of October, my cousin and I will be hold a sled dog day; were people can come out to the kennel and meet the dogs and learn more about sled dog racing. I hope you can try to come out and experience this day, and learn more from us. By then we hope to have our race schedule set. So come out and meet the dogs and mushers, learn about sled dog team positions, see our equipment and much more!! Our first race is coming up for the season!! The WI Trailblazers sled dog club, which I am a part of is holding the Dirty Dog Sled dog race again this year in Pearson WI. I hope to be running in the 2 dog bike, 1 dog bike, and the women's canicross class. I hope to see everyone there. To learn more about this event please visit http://witrailblazers.org/. Recently, one of my friends have wrote a definition for the word DEDICATION. What they have wrote have affected me, and have made me rethink many things. This is what they have wrote....
"Dedication is giving your all in everything you do, dedication is never giving up no matter how bad things get. Dedication is not taking a break when you’re doing well; it’s stepping even higher when you’re already so high up. Dedication is a lifestyle; you need to apply it in everything you do to truly live your life to its true potential. It’s important to know that dedication is not just about you, it’s about others as well. You cannot give up on yourself or others as well." Now can you see what I mean? It's mind-blowing. Katie recently went to go and get 3 more dogs for her kennel. She now owns 8 dogs at her place. Welcome Sam, Cloud, and Panda. Here is what Katie sent me in a email. Now we don't have such an all black team, can't wait to see what our race season will look like!! First run with the new dogs Rocket and Panda lead the whole way we made 4 miles in 23 minutes They did great but Dingo was not happy that she had to stay home. I took Carolyn with me and did not want to take all six. Evan with only 5 I could not keep them at a full stop Sam is really strong and can cover ground really easily can't wait for you to come out here and see them run they are amazing. |
